The water source in this waterfall comes from a river at the top of Mursala Island. Although not from a large river, the water discharge in this waterfall never dries. In the dry season, the water discharge is slightly reduced but still present. Mursala Waterfall rapids have quite heavy currents. So, it takes extra energy to fight the rapids and ocean waves when swimming under the waterfall. This water feels cold but refreshing.

There are several activities you can do at this tourist spot. Besides swimming, enjoy the meeting of sea water and fresh water under Mursala Waterfall, you can also do snorkeling. There are fish and coral reefs that you can observe while snorkeling under this waterfall. In addition, you certainly have to take pictures in front of the waterfall.

To reach this tourist spot, you must first arrive in Sibolga first. From Medan, you can go to Sibolga by air or land. However, overland travel is very time consuming because it takes around 10 hours to arrive in this city. If using air travel from Medan or the city where you live, you will get off at Pinangsori Airport, Sibolga.

From Sibolga, you have to go to Kalangan Beach or Pandan Beach. From here, you can head to Mursala Waterfall by renting a speed boat. This ship can accommodate 20 people. The speed boat rental price is quite expensive. However, if you pay by joint venture with your friends, the fee will feel cheaper. Travel by speed boat takes about two hours if the weather supports.
