Labuhanbatu Regency is one of the regencies in North Sumatra province. The capital city is located in Rantau Prapat. Labuhanbatu Regency is very popular for its palm oil and rubber plantations. Labuhanbatu Regency has a quite strategic position which is located in eastern crossing of Sumatra and intersection to West Sumatra and Riau provinces. This regency which connects to regional development centers in Sumatra and Java and also has adequate access to foreign countries because it borders directly to the Malacca Strait. Moreover, two great Sultanates once stood here, namely the Sultanate of Bilah whose capital city in Negeri Lama and the Sultanate of Panai whose capital city in Labuhan Bilik.
