On August 1-2, 2024, KPwBI North Sumatra Province has carried out NSI Incubator 2024 activities as a follow-up to the preparation of ready to offer investment projects as a result of the North Sumatra Investment Challenge (NICe) 2024, which is a potential investment project screening event for districts / cities in North Sumatra. The group was led by the Secretary of North Sumatra and accompanied by the Head of DPMPTSP North Sumatra, Head of BAPPELITBANG North Sumatra, Deputy Director of BI North Sumatra, and Principal Expert Auditor of Inspectorate North Sumatra. In addition, the NSI Incubator activity was also attended by Regional Leaders including the Regent of Humbahas, Mayor of Gunungsitoli, and Regent of Toba. In general, the NSI Incubator activity was attended by 5 districts / cities winning NICe 2024 including Pematangsiantar City, Karo Regency, Humbahas Regency, Gunungsitoli City, and Toba Regency.

On the first day, the activity was a forum for preparing investment projects to upgrade which was directly assisted by the Ministry of Investment/BKPM, Ministry of National Development Planning/Bappenas, and PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia. The activity also invited business actors to get the point of view of investors who want to invest in the region, namely the Director of Caldera Sobek Corporation. The activity continued with the writing of further investment study documents that can be followed up together.

On the second day, the activity was filled with comparative studies to the Jakarta Investment Center (JIC) and PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol. JIC, which is under the Jakarta DPMPTSP, provides services including: 1) research on investment promotion and cooperation, one of which is through the publication of development briefs, namely investment catalogs for potential investors, asset owners, and business entities; 2) investment promotion, one of which is through the Jakarta Investment Festival; 3) facilitation of investment cooperation in the form of business and investment consulting assistance including facilitation of one-on-one meetings. Furthermore, Ancol's ownership structure is a collaboration between PT Pembangunan Jaya (18%), the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (72%), and the community (10%). The business development carried out does not only focus on recreation but property development with a portion of 70%. This is done because it is more stable against changing conditions such as the experience of the co-19 pandemic.

As a follow-up to these activities include:

  1. Assistance for investment projects to upgrade from ready next to ready to offer, for projects with PPP schemes focus on the implementation of public consultations while pure private schemes are more about improving pre-feasibility study documents.
  2. Conducting site visits to the investment project in question with the aim of ensuring the availability of basic infrastructure and existing conditions scheduled for 2025.
  3. After refinement, the investment project will be included in the investment promotion program in North Sumatra.
