North Sumatra Invest (NSI) has conducted the Final Presentation of North Sumatra Investment Challenge (NICe) on July 2, 2024 at Santika Dyandra Hotel Medan. The activity was the end of a series of NICe events that had been officially opened on February 26, 2024. The implementation of NICe is a form of synergy and collaboration between the North Sumatra Provincial Government and the North Sumatra Representative Office of Bank Indonesia in order to accelerate the increase in investment realization in the region to achieve sustainable economic growth in North Sumatra through screening and preparation of preliminary study documents of regional investment projects.

The NICe Final Presentation was attended by Mr. Yura Djalins as Deputy Head of Bank Indonesia Representative of North Sumatra Province as well as Vice Chairman II of NSI and Mr. Faisal Arif Nasution as Head of DPMPTSP of North Sumatra Province as well as Secretary of NSI, Mr. Agus Prayitno as Investment Manager of Intermediate Expert of Ministry of Investment / BKPM, Mr. Fajar Hadi as PIKEI Coordinator of Ministry of PPN / Bappenas, and Mr. Dally Ramdhan Sugandria as Guidance and Consultation Coordinator of PT Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (PII). The Final Presentation is a deepening event between the 5 finalist participants in introducing the investment potential in their area with the judges. This process not only assesses project feasibility, but also provides an opportunity for finalist local governments to optimize their respective regional investment strategies, as well as simulate joint presentations with potential investors.

The NICe 2024 activity was closed with the announcement of the winners and the handover of prizes directly by the Head of DPMPTSP North Sumatra and Mr. Wahyu Yuwana, Deputy Director of BI North Sumatra. The winners of NICe 2024:

1. First place is Pematangsiantar City with the project Development of Heart and Stroke Excellence Services at the RSUD.
2. Second place is Kab. Karo with the TPST & TPA Development project.
3. Third place is Humbang Hasundutan Regency with the project of Thousand Caves Tourism Object Development.
4. Forth place is Gunungsitoli City with the Muara Indah Tourism Area project.
5. Fifth place Toba District with the project Lumbanjulu Agrotourism Investment Opportunities.
