Initially the name of the island was the same as the name of the female sex organs, so if someone asked about the name of the island to women, they would answer it with "Salah Namo Island"(Wrong Name Island) or Pulau Salah Nama. Finally, the island was better known as Salah Namo Island.

This island has its own uniqueness that is the number of red rocks surrounding the island area. The expanse of white sand and shady trees become an extraordinary attraction of Salah Namo Island, as well as the underwater world which is decorated with coral reefs.

No wonder the Regency of Coal has made this island as one of the icons of tourism as well as equipping it with various facilities including building lodging in the island and promoting it intensively.
